Do you believe in the idea of god's calling? Maybe after reading this, you will.

Recently, Ramesh, Suraj, and I were on a video call to plan our trip. After a long discussion without reaching a decision, we finally agreed that our best option was to travel to Goa. At that time, I was at home, Suraj was in Bilaspur, and Ramesh was in Australia.

The day before our trip, we received a call from Suraj that completely altered our plans. He had been in an accident but thankfully, he was alright. However, the incident frightened our families, leading us to cancel our trip to Goa.

We left home without much planning or preparation. Our first stop was Mainpat, known as the Shimla of Chhattisgarh. I clearly remember the tasty chicken curry and chapatis we had at the Arise Resort. A tip for visiting places with lots of tourists: try to go early in the morning. This way, you can see everything calmly without the crowds.

Mainpat, Chhattisgarh.

A few places that should be covered in Mainpat:
  • Jaljali - The Bouncing Land
  • Tiger Point - Waterfall
  • Mehta Point - Sunrise Point. In case if it is crowded, follow the road towards the sun. There will be a spot where the road and the sun line up. It will be pretty to see.
  • Jalpari - Trail + Waterfall

After exploring Mainpat for two days, we moved toward our next destination. We had planned to visit Bandhavgarh National Park, but it was closed due to the new year. We were already on our way. Fortunately, Ramesh discovered a beautiful place on Airbnb called Art Ichol, where we stayed for the next two days.

During our stay at Art Ichol, the caretaker suggested that we take a trip to the beautiful and historic city of Khajuraho. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Khajuraho is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Indian art, architecture, and culture. The city is home to a group of stunning Hindu and Jain temples that date back to between 950 and 1050 AD.

As I walked around the temples, I was awestruck by the intricate carvings and sculptures that adorned the walls and pillars. The temples are a true testament to the skill and creativity of the artisans who built them. From scenes of everyday life to religious figures, the carvings depict a wide range of subjects, providing a fascinating glimpse into Indian culture and religion during the medieval period.

But, it's not just the temples that make Khajuraho worth visiting. The city has a rich history and culture, making it an ideal destination for anyone looking to delve deeper into India's past. Whether you're an art and history buff or simply looking for a unique and enriching travel experience, Khajuraho is a destination that should not be missed.

After visiting the historical site of Khajuraho, we decided to make an impromptu visit to Allahabad to experience the Sangam also known as Triveni Sangam. An interesting note, I had a previous experience where I felt taken advantage of by the pandits and priests, but this time I chose to remain silent and allow my companions to have their own experiences. The same night, we traveled to Varanasi.
